Hooked on Fresh, Seafood Served with Heart

The partnership between Bob Fracalossy and Michael Garey began years ago in 1979 at Café L'Europe on St. Armand's Circle where Bob was the butcher and Michael was bussing tables. Eventually, Bob became the Chef and Michael the General Manager. In 1994, they opened the original Café on the Bay at the Moorings Marina for the owners of Café L'Europe, where Bob remained as Chef for several years.

Michael and Bob reunited once more to open The Lazy Lobster of Longboat on October 15, 2009 during the peak of the economic downturn, in a location not necessarily kind to previous establishments, with many of our extended family and friends accusing us of insanity. Thankfully, the restaurant took off almost immediately and has been successful beyond our wildest dreams.

In 2013, together we opened Kacey's Seafood & More in Sarasota which has now opened a 2nd location in Sarasota.

Our 4th venture is partnership with the Alderson family - the owners of Tyler's Gourmet Ice Cream to bring locally owned, locally made homemade ice cream and gourmet chocolates to Longboat Key.
